I'm trying to think of all the different classes, types, categories, call it what you will of off road enthusiasts.
So far I have,
Quarry bashers,
Weekend warrior,
Trial masters,
Tight and scratchy laner,
Water babies,
Shiny laner,
Gentleman off roader,
The Fixer,
The rescuer,
Over land nomad,
The prepared for everything, and finally,
The newbies.
Have I missed any and where do you see yourself. I'm wicker hamper and leather tool roll Gentleman off roader in my minds eye.

Are you meaning the people or the vehicles?
-Farmers or land owners, not necessarily a quarry
-Trials or competition people
-Oiks (or something more rude for all the idiots who drive off piste and make a mess of lanes and private land without a care for other people. Sadly often in lifted Disco2's or usually some kind of poorly modified vehicle).
If its more about disciplines then to account for terrain found in other parts of the wolrd
-mudders
-crawlers
-dunes

The people, love it
I been most of the categories up through the years.
Youtubers doing mountain roads with their LR's making it look like a very dramatic expedition on the otherwise nice film but, when I drove the same road with my original VW T5 bus I met a very happy dutch guy in his Yaris.

Sorry quarry bashing is an internal reference in my circle as an inclusive for all those who attend pay to break days from those just wanting to seeing what it can do having just bought it, to those wanting to do the silliest obstacle they can find in what is left of a 500 quid relic.

Yeah it is quite amusing what a selective shot and some clever editing can do to the track used by the locals to commute to the next village. They should have their own name, youtu.be bros?

I'll put my cars in a Poser category. They are all suited and booted for Off-roading but they don't actually do any off-roading nor do I intend to. 2 aren't used in the winter months or when it's raining. Any water in the road and I'll do my absolute best to avoid driving through it even if it means going a different route!
