Just started this morning. First instance on a flat road  40mph 4th gear, power dipped for less than a second and came back almost like having dirt in a carburettor jet. Then 2 short stops and one off road section later second gear 15 mph definate drop in power, foot to floor no picking up revs, dip clutch revs build engage clutch power drops again. Out onto main road 2.5 miles no issue mixed gear, loads and up and down incline and level. On rtb only 3 codes relating to old tyre pressure and 2 relating to be lidar esp system communications which I imagine would be something to do with the brake lights fuse going out. No codes relating to general obd11 or engine system or limp mode?

Anything anyone successfully dealt with?

No clue I'm afraid, but if it doesn't think anything is wrong then I'd look at live data to see if there is something wrong with the throttle sensor, but you'd expect if if was an intermittent connection or loss of output that it would set a code.

You'll have to contact Suzuki and pay hundreds for a diagnostic that won't find anything (Which is where I am at the moment with my Citroen, except they won't even look at it until mid April...) Then wait until it breaks and get a warranty fix having flagged the problem already.

The only other thing that springs to mind is an obstruction in the exhaust that has cleared, like half full of water or something, but I know you avoid water over the tyres too.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Thank you, yeah I'm going to contact the supplier later today to get their view and register it with them so it's on the system if needed for warranty. I'll also have live data on for a few more trips and see if anything shows.

It sounds like it’s going in to a Limp Mode, if the Jimny has such a thing and it’s possible it’s connected to the Lidar sensor fault codes.

My last BMW did the exact same when it reported a random fault with the gear box, it wouldn’t rev unless you changed down (it was an auto). It only cleared when you turned the ignition off.

It’s possible your Jimny is going in to a limp mode (or reduced speed/power) due to a Lidar fault, which then clears and it comes back out?

My anti collision has activated a few times, but never cut the power or applied the brakes.

If your Jimny does it more frequently try turning off the collision detection, if that stops the problem then you will know it’s something to do with that circuit and it’s probably a dealer repair.

That's the thing, it's been fine since Saturday morning? I'm still inclined to think that the lidar was to do with the brake fuse. It could just have been a bit of contamination going through the injectors but I only use shell from a high volume forecourt deliberately to try and avoid bad fuel? Unfortunately until it does it again I'm a bit adrift with it.

Anti collision has a couple of forms varying from a warning on the dashboard to a full braking and power drop. All forms are really noisy with panic alarms going off and on the braking version ABS pumping.

There was a reported mystery fault on the Jimnys reported on the press release cars in the USA where commanded and "silent" braking occurred on an empty road during a mild turn. I once had something similar in mine
