Spare wheel replacement storage box?

I need help. In so many ways. Specifically I was following a  G wagon this morning and instead of a spare wheel on the back it had a really neat little storage box thing,  square ish with very rounded corners about a foot per side.  Being a G it had a 3 point star almost as big as the box which is kinda unnecessary. I have spent an hour now looking for something similar with no results.  I assume that Mercedes have a can of tyre foam and a jack in it which I would probably replicate thus saving a load of weight by deleting the wheel and tyre. Anyone seen something like it for sale anywhere?

Looks like it's just a storage box, not for anything specific. 

I don't know if I'd go away from having a full size spare. In saying that, while the roads here in NZ are not the flashest, I've only had a flattie once. A friend of mine always throws a full size spare in the back of his car when going on road trips. Hates going 80kmh on the open road with a space saver tyre. 
It was almost a competition for a while here amongst 4wders (most of which rarely went off-road) to see who could carry the most spare wheels on the back of their rig. Thankfully that craze has died off.

The most amazing thing has to be the price. What sort of person would spend that kind of money on such an item?

Oh my! There's developing countries with less gdp than what they want for that!!!!

At least I know what the proper name is for it to look for something similar. But cheaper. A lot cheaper.
