Morning all. Need advise. I have a 2009 1.3 jimmy. Which has developed an over fuelling issue. The cat glows red. The car runs fine until it’s hot. Then all of a sudden it starts to stutter and it cuts out. No fault codes at all. Any one had this issue. Information would be gratefully received. Thanks ct

Clogged cat so resistance too high?
Spark plugs?
Bad or wrong fuel?
Coils?

Any mods done to it?

These cats are prone to failure as the no 1 disintegrates and the powder and pieces fall down into the no2 cat and constricts.

If you just want to fire the parts cannon at it, try the pre-cat oxygen sensor. (The one on the exhaust manifold)

During warm up the engine is running on a pre set map, then when hot it tries to balance the fuelling with the reading from that sensor.
They often go bad and cause overfuelling issues (which fail MOT on emissions as well as drop the MPG, but it is gradual so you don't notice), the EML won't come on until it can't get what it thinks is a sensible reading off that sensor and runs out of fuel trim trying.

Otherwise you are going to have to start reading stored codes and examining live sensor data.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

If it's heat related it could be the cam sensor?
