Ok so I'm going to need roof bars for bellerophon and no longer on temeraire so I'm wanting to get some gutter clamp feet that bolt on to the bars rather than having the bars pass through some kind of hole arrangement, that way I don't need the actual bars. So searching throws up something suitable but the prices vary from 35 quid up to 90 plus FOR ONE FOOT! I have seen a complete set of square bars for 44, not that I want those unless I can't help it. I'm not avers to building my own but I'd rather just buy some as a quick solution. Anyone have a secret supplier?

Ok so I seem to be going round in circles or mad or both or something else. Halfords don't like new shape jimny they don't even recognise that they take roof bars. Thule evidently don't think it's worth the effort and only list their stupid expensive square bars which I wouldn't mind either the expense if they were pleasing on the eye or the ugly if they were cheap. Hawk do some that look promising but they don't show them installed and it's therefore impossible to tell how close to the roof they are which is a double problem if they are too close they will have loud and also there's no provision for a downward load projection if something isn't very flat. Paw do some but again their pictures show them very close to the roof. And finally there's some unbranded ones on ebay that look good height wise and even have a kinda T slot facility in the top edge which appears useful but they also don't come with a rubber strip to fill it if not used which will almost certainly make them scream like a banshee. Either of the last two could be used for donor purposes but that makes it nearly as expensive as just buying some single feet.

I could also say no I won't bother after all I survived years without roof bars and just used trailers or had stuff out the passenger window jousting style, but in the last few years of having them they have proved invaluable as a quick and easy way of getting jobs done. I just can't believe how difficult it is to sort out for Bellerophon.

Might be getting somewhere. The hawk ones are actually predator made evidently and whilst the photo is possibly generated it does seem to suggest a reasonable height above the roof. Yes I am aware this constitutes talking to myself but I find it hard not to.

There are the Thule ProBar Evo, which are slide on, and I believe the front runner ones are bolt on. Both of these are on the expensive side.
Personally I've been using the Thule Squarebars, and I can't really fault them, other than the fact that they are fairly noisy. The feet are rubberised, so they are not too hard to take on and off without damaging the paint. I also found a cheep, cheerful and light roof rack to pair quite well with them; the car can't take that much weight on the roof anyway. The one I used is called the Hermes EKALS, but I had to order that from Greece. Don't need to use if very often, but as you can see from the last picture, it's sometimes necessary
