Thanks to Admin for allowing me to join.
Just bought our first Suzuki and a Jimny at that. Our grand daughter started me looking at the model because one of her school friends parents have one, so I have her to thank. Blimey, they are certainly holding their value, something I have no issue on that as it appears it will tick all our boxes and there aren't many vehicles out there these days that will do that. Whilst it wont be going truly off road, it should be able to cope with the horrendous roads we have here in Devon. I cant understand the urge for low profile tyres with the pot holes as large and plentiful as we have around the country.
I stumbled across a very low mileage and truly mint condition 2020 year SZ5 auto at our local main dealership. It has a full history documenting some very low annual mileage's, so we acted quickly. I know some may view low mileage as a bad marker, but it is clear this car has wanted for nothing since it was first registered.
I note the comments about rust and will get underneath to start giving it a bit of added protection from the salty air as I'm hoping this will be our last car. It is a second car and as there are very few roads here where a person can legally go over 60, it should be fine.
There is just one thing I have noticed on it, that is the front passenger seat base appears to slope to the nearside so the dealership will be checking that under warranty. I have seen a comment about the foam in one/two cases appearing to break down.
Rather sad, but I love that it has a real hand brake and a manually operated dipping rear view mirror. (I guess that shows my age!)
Please bear with me over the coming years as I start to get to know this vehicle.

welcome and congrats on your new purchase. Will be ideal on the devon lanes. I'm told there are quite a few older gen 3 Jimnys used down that way. They do hold their values very well. I don't see low mileage as a bad thing. It probably makes sense in devon as most will be used as local runarounds so won't be doing any mileage. My 2019 SZ5 has just gone over 8,400 miles but its only used during summer months and isn't my daily Jimny.

Hi and congrats on getting a 2020 SZ5. I bought my SZ5 about 15 months ago after having a Gen 3 for 4 years and I can honestly say the SZ5 is better in every respect, I think it will be a keeper. As yours is an auto that most likely makes it even rarer and probably worth more than a manual.
Like you I had to pay a premium to get a second hand car, but just a few months after purchasing Suzuki stopped importing the LCV (van) so it might well have been my last chance. My SZ5 had 23k miles on it and now has just over 30k miles, but I have a second car and don’t do big mileage.
The Jimny is very capable off road, even on standard tyres and makes a good job of most surfaces in two wheel drive, although the road tyres they fit aren’t great.
I am sure you will have a lot of fun round the lanes, a few back roads, a couple of muddy tracks/fields now and again.
Remember to post a few pictures and enjoy your Jimny journey.

Hello and welcome, I have had my 2019 SZ5 manual from new in January 2019 and still love this car as much as ever.
The seat collapse is a known thing, have a look HERE and have a read. Hopefully your dealer will do it under warranty.

What a superb introduction, I really appreciate your reply and the info about the seat. I will visit my dealer during the week. What better info to have available and to check up on!
