UK / EU DRL+ fog light

I have a Jap import, fog light only.
Picked up a pair of DRL + fog lights from a dead LCV.
Jap lights have 2 wires, UK lights have 3. Problem is after a quick look under the car i can only see 2 wires coming from the loom. Both have Black + Green but the UK also has a red wire. Any ideas on how to make this work ?

DRL should be on when the engine is running, but switched off when the headlights are on. My Gen 4 keeps the DRL on when side lights are on, although this might be optional in the spec.

Interesting that your Jimny didn’t get DRL fitted when it was imported as it is an EU/UK requirement for all new models released since 2011. I have heard you can get round it by using dip beam or possibly side lights.

If your Jimny lacks the wiring then feed 12v from the ignition, but put a relay in so that when the headlights are on, it cuts the power to the DRL.

They don't have TPMS, That's a big plus for off-roading.
But would like DRL's
I have no electrical skills, so simple pictures + words would be much appreciated.

TPMS is not a legal requirement (yet).

You can get some ‘auto DRL’ controller boxes on eBay which will control the DRL correctly, this is probably the best way unless your Jimny can be programmed to provide DRL.

DRL are not required for IVA. If they are fitted then they must be compliant but they do not have to be fitted. The IVA manual states "optional"

TPMS is not mentioned in the IVA manual, so is not inspected but it is mandatory on cars officially sold in the uk since 2012. As it is not checked on the IVA and the MOT only checks whether the fault lamp is on or the system is obviously not working, it is not an issue.
