Replacing carpet in a Jimny

Has anyone replaced their Jimny carpet with something other than a direct like for like replacement?

I seen a video of a guy replacing his Miata carpet with a kids play carpet, you know the one's with junctions, roads, roundabouts etc and it looked pretty neat inside the car.  Really fun and different.

Has anyone replaced their carpet with success and if so, with what?

On a SJ the roof types had a carpet and the cab had rubber/ soft plastic mats on the floor.
On my SJ I just have the bare steel..

Does the jimny cab have other than carpet? I would rather have no textile carpet as it hold moisture and helps the rust.

Would be fun to have a thick red shag with two inch thick fur and in the ceiling too, or something else fun like an old cow skin or something. At a yard sale you could find and old persian rug or a blanket would be easier to form to the floor.

Thick red shag and cow skin?... you forgot the dog on the dash with the head that bounces up and down and in South Africa we added fur on the dashboard (purple of course) and I doubt anyone anywhere will remember this, but the ultimate was a plastic outspan orange put onto the aerial... omg does that date me or what?!

Tennis ball on the [broken] aerial here in my youth.  Oh, and a wire coat hanger, pulled in to a bit of a diamond when the old aerial was snapped off.

That is if you had a car radio at all.  My first car didn't have a radio fitted as standard (not even a slot for one) and as I lived in 'Car Radio theft' and 'Joy Riding' Central I used an old battery powered radio/cassette on the front seat which I would take in the house on a night.

The last car I saw and thought about getting without a radio fitted as standard was a Lotus Elise, that was in 2001.  They probably didn't have carpets fitted either.
