Please can anyone advise
My auto jimny is having intermittent gearbox issues.
There is a delay when i first put in to drive​​​​​, then it doesnt change up a gear. Lately ive had to turn engine off while going along putting in neutral then starting engine and put in drive this has been working, however it has become more often and this doesn't correct it.
I have had the AA out typically it was fine on that day! 
I phoned round a few transmission garages for advice and have been told costs of around £2,300!! 
The AA guy checked all the oil levels and were fine!
I don't want to get ripped off if this can be rectified.

Unfortunately the automatic is really good until it's not and then it's expensive. 2300 for a rebuild isn't out of the norm. Does it give you any codes when it's acting up? A Bluetooth obd2 and szviewer on android will allow you to see some of what it is doing.
