SAME PART NUMBER, DIFERENT OME SHOCK! Could anybody explain that?

Hi everyone, many times since I enter the forum.
Almost 4 years without traveling with the jimny.
I changed my suspension to ARB in 2015! I choose OME springs (part number Front 2965/rear 2966), shocks (part number 028 front/029 rear) on a LHD 2011 3rd Gen Jimny! I bought it here in Brazil.
In 2020, I had the opportunity to buy new shocks, directly in an USA shop website, same partnumbers. At that time, I use the 2018 part number catalogue!
Only now in 2024 I take the car to the workshop and...OME 028 shocks are smaller!
I check the 2015 and 2020 invoices, the catalogue and the part number in the body of the shocks, they are 028! But cannot be installed in the jimny! After 2 weeks, I did not receive any good explanation about what happened!
I did not expect any warranty. However, I choose ARB suspension, because I could find it many countries nearby in south america! How can I confidently buy new ones, without an explanation? And if they come in the wrong size again?
Can someone explain what happens?
Also, the front one came without upperbushes, does anyone know the right part number for them?

I have koni on mine so can't help with parts number but I would suggest emailing arb direct as I can't see them changing the parts numbers without good reason. It could also be that the ones you have aren't genuine? There's some good ish copies being sold but suspect suppliers.

Norway 2005 Jimny M16A VVT, 235 BFG MT, 2" Trailmaster, ARB rear lck, 17%/87% high/low gears.

Do you have a 2 inch lift?
For the Samurai the supplied shocks for the 2" OME lift are too short. and very soft too so i was happy to swap them anyways. Also been trying to find new shocks for my 2" trailmaster lift but most often other brands with shocks for the 2" lift are too short, i am still using rear GrandVitara KYB shocks as they are the correct lenght for my 2" lift. Cant get trailmaster from Germany to send them no longer it seems.
these are the Trailmaster Shock absorber measurements:
Front extended shock length: 439mm
Front collapsed shock length: 275mm
Rear extended shock length: 511mm
Rear collapsed shock length: 332mm

The supplier was Just differentials in USA. They were great when I bought, and It was said it was drop shipping from ARB USA warehouse. Now, they said they didn't have good return from ARB representative. I am waiting a week, and did not receive return to a email from ARB USA....

Yes, 2 inch lift with OME springs. Problem is the first OME shocks work great! Just want another one.....but if OME 028 changed size and did not have any sign of that in part number, how can I find the correct one?

My guess, and it is a guess, is that you were supplied with the wrong shock on the last purchase.
Now here's the reason I have arrived at this conclusion - post pandemic OME had a lot of product on back order, some with no eta, during that period I was looking for N103S struts to replace the ones I was using.
When I did find these, after almost a year of searching and cancelled orders, the number stamped into the strut body was not N103S, it was something different, I don't recall what, but there was a self adhesive label saying N103S and other than the stamped number being different, the struts were outwardly identical to my original N103S.
It was as if OME had built N103S struts using the shell of a different product and stuck a self adhesive label onto it to identify it, and something similar may have happened in your case, the 028 shell was used with different "innards" and somehow you were shipped that "frankenshock".
Between your supplier & Old Man Emu they should sort you out, and I would suggest you contact Old Man Emu directly rather than ARB USA - I have been having issues with ARB USA, the Jimny is not sold in the US, so the US staff don't know what is available or how to respond to questions - you would think that they could refer to ARB Australia, but I've found it depends on who you deal with, some can't be bothered.
