First thing to check is if you have the VVT engine or non-VVT. 2005 was the changeover year. Or if it's a soft top you may even have the G Series engine, in which case ignore the rest of what I say as I'm not familiar with them.
If it's a VVT then the easy and cheap options are to fit a 1.5 or 1.6 VVT from an Ignis, Swift (but not the Swift Sport), SX4 or Liana.
If it's a non-VVT then the traditional route was to find a non-VVT Liana and fit the 1.6 from that. They are getting harder to find, so the next best option is to get one of the VVT engines mentioned above and then fit your non-VVT cylinder head and timing cover, essentially making it a non-VVT engine.
Those are then engines that will fit and run on the Jimny ECU without even having to plug a computer in. Avoid the higher output engines like the Swift Sport or S-Cross engine as they are higher compression and this can cause issues with pre-detonation when running on the standard ECU.
