If I have mentioned this point before, you can either forgive me or accept this point as a sort of " how has it panned out". Anyway, a while back I tried an experiment, I moved the interior mirror 90 degrees so that all I could see was the mirror edge on. This opened up a better view of the frontal aspect and removed a tiresome blind spot that needed me to bend my head downwards and to the right when driving through certain "hazards" to the left. Obviously this meant no central mirror but I quickly learnt to rely on the door mirrors. Anyway, last week I put the mirror back to it's central position to check the difference and to prove to myself that for me at least the idea was beneficial. Within a couple of days I was satisfied that I liked the absence of the mirror and will look into removing it entirely. I will look into the legalities of doing this of course but I doubt that it will contravene construction and use.
Anyway ,if you suffer with an interior mirror that gets in your view re: just to your left and maybe up a bit, then moving the mirror sideways on may be an answer. It works for me and it might for you plus it's a very cheap mod!
A vehicle after 2010 has to have two external mirrors and an internal mirror, unless the internal mirror does not provide an adequate view to the rear, see
Thanks for the info. Doc. I suppose I could cover over the rear window but that would create problems of general vision so I guess the mirror stays sideways on. The door mirrors are a decent size so rear vision is OK.
