Anyone know how the speedo can be re-calibrated on the 4th Gen if you significantly change tyres size and/or add a re-gear set in the transfer box?

Not sure if it is gear driven or if there is an electronic way of doing it.

I have just copied this from the Workshop Manual:

Speedometer
ECM calculates vehicle speed using wheel speed sensor signal from ESP® control module and sends vehicle speed signal through CAN communication to combination meter.

So does that mean it will self calibrate?

No, because it will be calculating based on the standard wheel diameter

What would be nice is if you could enter the tyre diameter into the controller

We could do we someone selling something like this for the Jimny then. Surprised there isn’t, as there are loads of people on YouTube running all sorts of different tyre sizes on the Gen 4.

Update.

The Gen4 is a twin double sensor (four in total) system whilst the Gen 3 is a single sensor system, therefore this kit would not work

Sorry, I assumed the system was similar with a single dedicated sensor for the speedo.

I guess that due to the extensive electronics providing the ESP (Electronic Stability) they need redundant double sensors and then two of them to compare front and back
