No idea about the Australian market. In the UK, prices are inflated by the deletion of the Gen4 (car, at least; a van derivative is available in very small numbers) after less than 2 years on sale, so a Gen3 is the only choice unless you want to pay stupid money.
The Aussie salesman at my local Mazda dealer told me a story from his home country, of taking in a PX Jimny that looked as if it had been literally sandblasted, as the customer lived in the outback. The sales manager gave them $500 and was going to send it to auction, but this chap decided to try it right at the front of the lot where it could be seen by passing traffic, warts and all, for $2000. It sold the next day.

I am not sure we can draw any comparison from the UK market to Aus, best advice is look on Autotrader or one of the other 'cars for sale sites' to see how prices are going.
www.autotrader.com.au/for-sale/suzuki/ji...By=price&orderBy=asc
There is only one 2006 and that is $16,000. That is about £8,000 in the UK, possibly a bit high for here, but it depends on condition.

lf your Jimny is as clean as it looks then it's probably worth what you suggested.
The best example will always make good money.

Very true
I do try to keep a tidy car,
Full service history, literally nothing needs doing,
New brakes/rotors, battery ect ect
I may try 14,000 aud. And see how it goes

You can't negotiate the price up. If you want 14 start at 17.

As an example one identical to mine is on at 18999 mine has a bit more miles but still I would start mine at 19500 knowing that people will attempt to bump me on it and when they do I will still be where I want to be with it. This obviously is an academic proposal as the keys to my jimny will need prying from my cold dead fingers.
