diesel jimny now arrived
after many months of searching and dreaming of owning a diesel diesel jimny, all the stars aligned and i crossed paths with one that i could not refuse.
i found this one after hrs sat at the computor and in this country too.
So heres julian the jimny its a 2008 lhd diesel and a genuine factory converted van, thats done a recorded 55 km (34000 miles).
its been used as a maintenance truck travelling from calais to falkstone and done very little looking at the whole condition (dicounting the missing arch and damage to the bonnet, that was done buy the guys son who i bought it off).
We just had a little trip up the road to see how it drives and pulls and ended up very pleasantly supprised.
it drives nice and tight for one of these and pulls very strong in all gears making driving it very pleasant.
so one first impressions its my intension to get it registered on uk plates and all legal then valet it up, repair the bonnet and refit the arch and after then decide on its future.
as you guys know i like to carryout the odd converion on these trucks, and think it could end up looking like one in the profile picture
whats your thoughts guys

its a renault 1.5 turbo diesel engine, thats a common fitted engine in many vehicles.
its 86bhp standard and can be remapped as well, spoke to my remap guy whos saying once remaped around 110- 115bhp with a posible 200plus nm of tourqe so should have plenty of low down power, but i will post figures once its been done.

I wrote everything that I knew and learned about the DDiS model in this wiki article:
www.bigjimny.com/mediawiki/index.php/Die...DiS)_Jimny_specifics
There does not appear to be any other information knowledgebase about DDiS Jimnys in the existence on the Internet.
I can just say buyer beware. It might be fine for years if you dilligently perform all preventive maintenance, but if it happens to be a specimen with an already dodgy engine or transmission, you WILL find yourself in this state of mind after a while:
Anyway, read my wiki article with this in mind:
