Fan belt issue keeps coming off was created by shaggy
My fan belt snapped about 2 weeks ago and i replaced it. All was fine til last night when it came off again. I put it back on but it came off again.

I am suspecting the lower pulley (crank Pulley). This is a two part pulley with a rubber ring separating the inner and outer parts. There seems to me to be undue movement in this. When putting the belt back on I noticed I could move the outer part of the pulley on the inner one quite easily with my fingers. Do I need to replace this or is it meant to be like that?

Welcome to the forum. Yes definitely replace it! They're held on with a bolt with a large flange built in. This will almost certainly have rusted itself very very firmly to the pulley and it's going to put up a fight. Or it'll just crack off with a decent impact gun. Some people have also wedged a breaker bar against the chassis and flicked the starter. Others have had to resort to slicing the flange off with an angry grinder. Best of luck!
