Does anyone have Old Man Emu 40mm lift shocks and springs fitted to their jimny? I'm after your thoughts on the ride characteristics and if you were pleased or disappointed in them? Thanks.

I don't but from the few mentions they've had on here the seem to be well received?

I have OME springs but not shocks.
They are a high quality spring but I am using diesel springs in the front which are a little firmer than I want. I will likely replace them with either the petrol springs or with the Trailmaster.

I got the impression that Trailmaster is generally more often preferred over OME on the Jimny. Don't remember why/where but i think i read this in an old thread here. Couldn't find it now searching...
I had OME on my SJ and the shocks was not great, but the springs were wonderful and soft. But that was leafs so not comparable.

I had OME on my Landcruiser and they were really good.
When I was researching for the Jimny I was going to fit OME. I recall reading a few times the ride was a bit hard on OME and that Trailmaster was a better setup for the Jimny.
I fitted Trailmaster recently based on this and I am impressed. Nice on road and really comfortable and forgiving offroad.

Thanks for the replies chaps, I had OME on my defender and whilst I was very pleased with it I did find the ride a little hard. I do think that I had the heavy duty springs supplied and not the medium duty that I ordered. The landy was stripped pretty bare and probably added to the problem of the heavy duty springs. I gave the shocks and springs some abuse and they never missed a beat which is why I was keen to fit them to my new toy. I was intending to order them today but now the trailmaster has been thrown into the mix I'm undecided again.
