4wd vacuum but hubs not engaging was created by Bilmin
Hello all

My jimny has solid green light on dash when I push 4wd button and it goes off when I press 2wd.. I have checked all vacuum hoses and no leaks, I can engage disengage hubs through the system by using manual hand pump attached to vacuum down pipes under bonnet, so def pipes are ok.. when I press 4wd the forward shaft spins and drive shafts at both sides spin as they should... I’m thinking it’s electrical switch/ solenoid? Anyone any ideas before I have a meltdown! Lol.... thankyou

1.Check vacuum switch under the fuse box.
It is responsible for the error - faulty switch or vacuum leak.
Temporary solution is to remove the connector from it and insert a bridge wire into the connector - it should fool the system and confirm that vacuum is ok an allow you to switch modes.

IT IS JUST TEMPORARY SOLUTION.

2.If still not working, than it's the transfer case switch bulb that is causing issues.
3.Last (but not least) you should check the wiring.

A solid green when it 4x4? That's normal. No lights in 2x4 is also normal. Flashing green means something is not working properly. Same with orange for low range, solid good, flashing bad.

Also have you taken the hubs off and given them a clean and light lube?

One of my hub lock had the membrane with issues, therefore no vacuum was kept (both circuits).

Replaced & fixed. Now I get -10PSI of vacuum.
