What to look for when buying a Jimny was created by Hardy2712
Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum and after some advice on what to look for when buying a jimny for the first time. I have a limited budget and therefore worried of buying a nail. I will be using it for shooting, so not hardcore off roading but don't want to be getting tuck.

Where should I look for rust? Are the engines good for a lot of miles - if serviced correctly?

Thanks for your help.

Go to the main Bigjimny website and you'll find a buyers guide to answer all of these questions.

Welcome along too!

I'd link it but it's too fiddly on my phone!

I don't see why the Jimny gets poor reviews? Okay, it is slow and a little small in the boot but I honestly think it's a great drive! Mine is a 2015 model, has there been major improvements over time? The reviews say it has had very few, so I don't understand. The body roll is okay when driven properly but again it always gets slated. My mum bought a Jimny in 2000 and I drove that regularly and I can't remember any problems then. Sorry for going off on a tangent but needed to say my piece. Hello and welcome to the forum. I am sure when you find the right Jimny you will be very pleased with it, I definitely am :)
