Hi all!

Even though it's not such an uncommon thing, I can't find a rust converter in my local DIY shops. Where have you bought yours (those of you that have)?

I've not tried the motor factors yet.

flag rust converter

toolstation £18.72

Water based and quick drying. Neutralises rust and forms a tough black coating which can be over-coated with a solvent based primer to top coat. Prevents rust re-occurring.

Halfords is a good shout. Never thought of that. Job for tomorrow now.

I was trying to find some of the Hanmerite stuff but couldn't find any at the few places I went to.

For smaller patches I prefer Jenolite and eBay is the place for finding it. ;)

Hello BigAndy,Yes, that's true. These products are becoming less common in our local stores, but on certain online shops, you can have rust converters delivered within minutes nowadays. Personally, I have ordered them from this website.
