I understand what your saying I'd also thought of building a bolt on frame so I could stand with the boot open and lean on a beam witch was attached to the roof rails unsure were I'm going to go with it yet I may even get a large sunroof out of a vechiel and fit it in the roof of the Jimny but the issue with that is the shape of the roof. All I know is I'm seriously attached to the car it's taken me threw a lot iv spent hours in it and working on it it's only a two seated as iv removed the rear seats so I won't lose on seat space

My mate has a LWB Vitara and bolted a step to the tow ball mount. He then steps on that, rests his Rifle on a bean bag on the roof and shoots like that.

I'm sure a Jimny would be the same. You might want to un-bolt the roof rails though.
