Back boxes for 2000 Jimny M13A?? was created by poacher
Hi Folks,

whats the going rate for a back box?

Cracking design, I must say, having the folded seam facing towards the source of water

Just looking for an idea of prices.

Cheers

I've not had to replace one but there's always some for sale on ebay and they appear to be an easy change from what I've seen of them.

I've seen the ones on ebay, ranging from £36 to £70 but is there not 2 types??

The ones I have seen are for the sohc type, that said, unless its a completely different configuration then it shouldn't make any difference.

I did away with mine and used flexible stainless tubing to attach a motorbike silencer (Honda VFR750).

How does that go with the test?

I use my Jimny for shooting & ferreting so the least spent on it the better.

Not saying I'm tight or anything

Just passed the MOT 3 weeks ago but I know the guy really well so that may have helped. It sounds great by the way. I will be at the Tong meeting on 5th Dec if anyone wants to have a look at it.

Anti roll bar links - lose the anti roll bar and you won't need the links!

£50 for a bax box fitted compared with other cars is not excessive - by the time you've paid £35 for a cheapy on ebay + p+p then faffed about to fit it you may as well have done the £50.00!

Sorry, should have stated - £50 for the back box was supply only

How does the loss of the anti roll bar affect the Jimny's?

How much does somewhere like Kwik fit want for one fitted then - it's a simple job and a basic design!!!

Anti roll bars don't do that much on a Jimny but I noticed a little difference on the road - you can't drive them like GTI's though so it's not much of an issue - there's another post going on this subject at the moment and most people say they don't notice it's missing when they remove it.

I take it you can't get it welded up?
My son had his exhaust box welded up for £20 at the local exhaust place

Sadly, this one has passed the realms of welding up, otherwise I would have zapped it with the mig.

I'll have a look at the post regarding the anti roll bar.
