Hogmoor Inclosure - 5th April - TV4x4

TV4x4's next event is at Hogmoor Inclosure (AKA. Hogmoor Arena) on Sunday 5th April.

This site ranks amongst the best in the UK with acres of space. Wide, open, sandy tracks will give the owners of more shiny vehicles miles and miles of driving tracks.

For the more adventurous then the woods have lots of hidden challenge sections to seek out and enjoy.

For the really adventurous then the lake with its very sudden depth changes produces many heart stopping (and engine stopping!) moments.

The club will be there with Burger Van facilities, wheel wash and club caravan.

All are welcome, this is being operated under Promotional rules so membership is not required, however you are welcome to join the club at the site.

This site will give you a very full days off-roading for £30 (subject to final confirmation of insurance costs)

I will be there - will you?

We went to Hogmoor Enclosure today to the AWDC Winch Challenge with friends.

It was a fantastic day out and an eye opener as to what some people are able to do with a vehicle and where they can put them!!!

There was a Jimny in the event - a blue one - if you are reading this or know the owner, put some piccies on the site for us!!! Unfortunately it lost drive to the front for some reason but they tried to carry on with the winch and rear wheel drive!!!

It's a fantastic site too. I bet the sand plays havoc with your brakes and bearing there though Martin!!!

99.9% of the vehicles were Landrover 90's with mega bucks spent on them. I reckon you've gotta be spending £25k+ to build a challenge spec 90. I'll stick with my 410 + Jimny!!!

Yes - its a really good site and we are looking forward to our visit in a couple of weeks time. You are right, it is a hard site on brakes and bearings. I had hoped to put of chaning my front brake pads until after the event but a quick look around the car on Thursday revealed a sorry tale so it will have new Kingpin Bearings, a Wheel Bearing and Front Pads BEFORE going to Hogmoor :(

Will we see you there?

Martin

I hope you have fun, you'll not see me there as I'll be working I believe. I did not realise that this was where we were going or that it was indeed the name of it whilst we were there. it was only when I got home and looked at the AWDC website to find out more about it.

I really enjoyed it and will definately be going to see more winch challenges. I'd love to be able to do it myself but the cost must be incredible, it costs enough just to drive about as a pay and play type thing where you don't have to have such a highly prepared vehicle and all the kit.

Enjoy changing another set of kingpin bearings!!!
