Yet another boring tyre size Question I know but I haven't been able to fin the answer anywhere :(. I was wondering if I could fit 215/80/15 tyres on my standard alloys? I've got the 3spoke wheels, would have likes 235/75/15 tyres on new wheels but as I only have a 2"lift I don't think they will fit :(

Hey Mate I Had the same problem and hope my experience helps you!

To begin I have the same rims.

I orginally had the stock tyres 205/75/15r and they were going ok with the 2"inch lift but just looked a little small and dorky...

So I upgraded to a 225/75/15r and noticed that it made my ride feel alot more sluggish and really ruined my rolling diametere in my vehicle.

So I settled with my current 215/75/15r Nankang Wide Conquerors and honestly they havent skipped a beat!

People will try and tell you to stay away from brands such as Nankang or Kumo and Yoko but seriously they have never tried them. What these tyres companies do to save money is buy excess tyres moulds that bigger tyre companies have no use for and use them instead of developing their own.

But back to the point 215/75/15r is the best overall tyre in my opinion its big enough and wont kill the engine or scrape your guard... I orginally wanted to go bigger but seriously your just going to have worse fuel eco and a higher but more sluggish ride a 215/75/15r will also fill out a jimny with a 2"inch lift also.

This is just from my experience and i hope it helps you :)

PS: a 215/75/15r will fit in the standard jimny perfectly also without the lift

On the same theme, I want totally standard tyre sizes and see from previous chats where to buy them. There are 3 models it seems widely available:
Falken T110 Landair A/T for £61
Insa Turbo Traction Ranger £60
Goodyear Wrangler AT/SA £81

Use: Salisbury plain during the winter, so lots of muddy trails, super wet grass and some hills. Lots of flint about as well. Will probably put on a separate set of steel rims just for the winter.

All advice welcome. Current tyres as fitted by the dealer: Dueller HT road tyres. No modifications at all to the car.

Thanks!
