Hi all,

I am wanting to fit a cb radio. nothing fancy just something basic. Iv seen a few on ebay for a cheap as £40. I have already bought a bracket to attach the aerial to the spare wheel. but im just wandering, how are they powered? can I plug it into the cig lighter? also the cable that runs from the aerial to the cb, do i drill a hole in my back door for it? bit confused really so any help would be good! :)

Mine is wired up to a cigarette lighter plug, makes it easier to remove.

The aerial wire is just sticking out the back door, didnt drill any holes or anything, fits between the seal ok. My aerial is on a magnetic base on the roof of the car.

ive got the spare wheel style mount, with my cb mounted on top of the dash, but for a neat installation i had to get the cable from the ariel to the cb lenghtend, well he mad me a new one for a couple of quid, and as for the cable like said before just fed through the back door, and ive sandwiched the power cable in the conection from the ciq lighter,

depends if you want to remove the cb say at night etc, you would need a ciq lighter power thingy, like a incar phone charger has, mines just wedged in the power input at the back of the ciq and earthed on a earthing bolt under the dash, hope that makes sense

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configuration

thats the one ive got, but ive got a spare wheel bracket mounted mount... errr touch twister

all depends where your mounting the ariel, mag for the roof rather than drilling into the roof, you could use a roof bar mount, all depends where you want it

you will proberly need a longer cable though from the mount to the cb, mines around 7metres i think lol, goes behind the panel in the rear drivers side, the under the drivers seat across through the back of the dash to the top,
