I believe the Jimny is wired up in a different way to most vehicles. As in the power goes through the accessory first and is then earthed via the switch. Am I right in that assumption.
If so do I have to wire the accessories in a similar manner or can I run power through switch then to lamps and then to earth.

You can run power through the switch first, then to the accessory.

i've run a single wire into the cab, then into a multi point fuse box. so if you want to add extra toys you dont have lots of wires connected to the battery, just a single junction inside the car.

That is what I am planning to do. Problem is, where to fit the fusebox. The ideal place would have been on top of dash in front of passenger. But Suzuki have already used that. Only other thing I can think of is to make a panel up to go from top of centre console to above the ashtray (non smoker).

i've got mine bolted under where the passenger aigbag goes. if you've taken yours out there are two bolts which hold it in, i built up a bracket and bolted the fuse box to that.

its just in the top right of this photo, thats the back of the glovebox with that black box on it....

It's best to use relays to anything that uses juice like lights, invertors etc though.

CB's and chargers etc are fine though.
