I need to remove the front bumper. There is nothing in workshop manual. As I like to read up onbefore doing these sort of jobs. Can anyone explain how they did it.. It might be a simple job. But then again there may be hidden fixings that I am not aware of, until they snap.

I just used my angle grinder!
There will be clips to the inner arches, then just carefully remove any other visible fixings and don't force anything.Sorry no experience with the original front bumper so can't be of much help.
Just got my brackets welded on :-) Time to go brave the wind with some hammerite :-(
Sent my ORA bumper for galvanising (£20) then goes for paint next week :-)

If you need a hand removing the bumper id be happy to help, not had any problems removing them in the past on other cars.

Ian,

Ages since I took mine off and can't remember but it must have been easy enough.
Take #plate off, I think there's bolts behind that??
The ones underneath on mine were a right pain. Ended up grinding the heads off.
Careful if you do that and intend re fitting it, the heat could melt the plastic, mine did.
You could always use big plate washers if you 'melt' the holes. Get my drift.

I'll nip out to the garage and have a look now see if I remember anything.
I am old though and I have Altimeters Decrease so I may forget to come back.
Hold on, where am I going?
;)
2 ticks.

You're nobbut a whippersnapper.I need to take it off for a coule of reasons. One is to try a s/hand winch bumper on. If it doesn't look right, the old one will be going back on/ 2nd reason is to fit a couple of spotlights to existing one.

Right.
2 each side under the headlamps.
4(?) behind number plate.
2 inside narrow grille. Perhaps holding the lower black plastic thingy on. (Technical description)
Several each side underneath including the vicious ones that I attacked with my grinder then threw them over the garage in a temper.
There's also the big ones attached to the chassis brackets.
I have a few crappy pictures taken with a telecommunications device I happened to have in my pocket.
Perhaps they might help.
Most are of Angelina Jolie but they help me loads.
Now where did I put my cup of horlicks?
