But what about those trees that get blown don, the local council won't clear those. A Bahco will be hard work on them

IF you can demonstrate a reason for carrying it you can carry a machete type effort for lopping trees and bushes obstructing lanes. You can legally maintain a lane if i remember correctly.

Another top tip that i've yet to get round to is to sharpen one edge of your shovel with a grinder to chop at light branches

Just remember you carnt take any logs you cut up for your fire at home. Legally the whole tree or shrub belongs to the land owner on which the trees grows. People wont always thank you for clearing the road but will soon pipe up when you try to take a few logs for your troubles

This has occurred to me lately!

Today I picked up my recovery bag to put it back in the JimJam and thought "Bugger Me!" as it's so heavy.

I must have forgotten the saw I carry for pesky branches that are just too big. Most I do just push to one side but sometimes they are just too big and cars often lose fights against trees!

This is the saw I carry:

I also carry a pair of Secateurs.

Fallen trees can be dealt with by winching them out of the way of going over them with the aid of waffle boards if needed, unless they are too big, in which case that's that and I have to turn around and admit defeat!

I've been thinking of removing the rear seats as there really isn't enough leg room, but just occasionally I am grateful to have them.
