So what about fitting the steel bumpers, ala Rhino Rays?
Will this not effect the air bag system?
Just asking as along with 1,000 and 1 jobs still to do on Jim, I have two steel bumpers, still waiting to go on.
Am I going to have problems?

K :)

Yes, I know, move to the Isle of Man!

To be honest, regarding the changes. A lot of that is common sense and its time that motorists took more responsibility for regular checks. With longer service intervals on cars most people don't open the bonnet and leave everything for its service. If they lack the ability to do the checks then a genuine reliable garage will do it for them. I know of a few places that charge ĆƒĘ’Ć¢ā‚¬Å”ƃā€šĆ‚Ā£10 for a pre mot inspection and will replace the minor things before testing ie bulbs etc.. If you're car fails because of low fluids or something else minor you have yourself to blame.

I had a car fail on a number plate bulb! I didn't use the garage before the test and they just failed it, i did question why they didn't put in the 50p bulb and charge me for it!
I had read that the new changes would include EML warnings too and had a bit of sweat on over it as our focus throws it up frequently but passed previous mot's without a problem with the light on.

the garage that does our mot also does repairs that are too difficult for me (so he knows it well  )
apparently his favorite is dried on clay :P
it helps when MOT time comes around as he knows what the truck is used for, that it gets looked after and how few on road miles it does

oh and for Keefe - baby blue ones get special treatment
