don't worry mate - just drive carefully and it will soon come down - jimnys aren't the most insurance friendly for young drivers as they have a propensitity to fall over if driven too vigorously
when you've got a years no claims (usually 25%) and no endorsements then you can shop around

162 years old and all mods declared as a second car £136 fully comp on 2000 miles pa with frank pickles

Yeah my insurance was 1600 fire n theft on a sj when i was 18 on my first years driving but halved the second year with no accidents or points.

It will increase if you crash though so be very carefull in your first year

I'm 22 and pay £670 ish

Currently with Elephant, as they came out cheapest by far. Adrian Flux are always above £1500 for me :unsure

As for consumption, i got 36mpg out of mine on the standard Dueller tyres, with my AT2's i get 33max.
My last tank didn't seem to last long, but just worked it out to 31.5mpg so it wasn't bad!

if you keep it standard you should get 28-32 mpg depending on whether its in town or not
big wheels rollcage winch steel bumpers etc and it'll do 20mpg
