Young jimmy owner with the bug was created by Scotty101
hi guys , I've just joined the site after my parents gave me there 2003 jimny. I'm 17 year old farm worker and I'm big into my shooting. I'm after advice , as I now have the modifying bug. First I would like to change the wheels and tyres, I would like to them standard size as my insurance will rocket if I have to add spacers or lift the vehicle. So enough said and dies anyone know and good tyre and wheel packages?

Cheers
Scott

Yes well I'm only going to be on damp feilds and muddy gate ways as the farm quad will get me through rough patches, do you know much about the insa turbo all terrains? And I do alot of ferel pigeon shooting round grain store but mainly lamping rabbits. I'm from Morpeth but live in Alnwick northumberland.

Hi yes the insure turbos are a very good tyre, but you don't have to spend a lot in my opinion, I have bought everything off eBay you can get some really good bargins if money is a little tight. I have built mine off that site.

I would save your money on wheels and just use whatever is on the car now. If you don;t intend to lift it - understandably with insurance - there is no point in getting different wheels unless you just fancy a nice set of alloys.

Aftermarket alloys are tricky to get for the Jimny though, so you'd be limited to the factory options.

I would look to get some Kumho KL71's which are more aggressive than an all terrain but not very aggressive as a mud terrain and are great on the road. All round an excellent compromise.

I think you can get them in standard size.

If you don't buy alloys you'll have more money for shooting!!!

I'm getting more and more interested in thsi shooting lark! I have a neighbour that's right into it and is getting me slightly keen and likewise I'm getting him into Zuk's and offroading as he's bought a LWB Vit to get to shooting sites in!

Cheers guys , some great advice there , marix panther all terrain on standard rims I think will be my decision. ( if it's muddy enough to get the jimny stuck on all terrains then my theory is there will be no rabbits there?) also I would just to say this site is excellent and very helpful , most other forums take a instant dislike to you if you young and don't have much experice.
Cheers
