Tyre Sizes was created by wanderinstar
Can someone explain the different tyre sizes for me. As in 215/75x15 and 30x10.5x15. I know about aspect ratio, but what do the numbers mean in the second size?
Ian.

For the first type;
The 205 is the width of the tyre in mm
The 75 is the height of the tyre as a percentage of the width
The 15 is the diameter of the wheel in inches

For the second type;
The 30 is the overall diameter of the tyre in inches
The 10.5 is the width of the tyre in inches, and
The 15 is the diameter of the wheel in inches

10.5 is width in inches.God you would need some really wide arches to fit them under.

i've got 31x10.5 fitted to my jimny on 7" wide rims, you'll see them on saturday just fit under with a 2" body lift and a bit of arch trimming. :cheer: :laugh:

It doesn't seem right putting a 10.5" tyre on a 7" rim.Is it legal?

Thats the common fitment. You can fit them to 5" but a little too big 7" is a good all round size for 9.5" - 10.5" tires

Your standard jimny rims are 5.5" wide and standard tires are roughly 8" wide
