Nothing wrong with Rear Brake Pads ...

I had both -- Rear Discs (on my Suzuki SJ413 - from Rob Storr) and now standard Rear Brake Pads on my Jimny -- I prefer Brake Pads, as they are 'simple' to change (ok not a simple as Disc Pads) and also i have a SJ 6:1 Transfer Box and I dont like the hand-brake on the Transfer Case, and dont like the hand-brake on the Rover Calipers!!

Jalapeño, IISY?

I converted to Rear Disks with Rover Calipers and for me it was not the wonderful experience others suggested it would be.

I would like a tbox brake but I dont want to give up the jimny t box. If you read this simon I dont suppose you could rig one up for the jimny t box.

I'm in the process of getting all the bits together for the muddyzook kit (currently searching for a caliper carrier!:( ).

I have the muddyzook kit already but my question is "has anyone fitted this kit without buying the longer wheel studs?

I have steel wheels but they are not Suzuki ones. It says you can use the original wheel studs but only with suzuki steel wheels. I cant see my steel wheels being much thicker than standard ones but thought I'd best ask as I dont want to start fitting everything to then find I cant put my wheels back on!

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers

Chris

Hi Bigchridy,

First off the photos 3 to 8 are of my jimny on my drive:) , but before that Rob of MZ came and fitted the kit for me and then I was left to finish of so to speak put wheels on and stuff, It was when putting the my ALLOY wheels back on thats when I noticed not that much thread sticking out. I was'nt too happy about fitting the wheels and driving the car until it was sorted. Got intouch with Rob and we sorted it pretty quick.

So I think thats why the lads at MZ put that IN about the wheel thickness, ME speaking now, IF the nut goes on all the threads fully you should'nt have probs, but IF after putting wheels on, the threads only go on a couple of threads use common sence and and dont drive on them.

Had them on a good while now, and the handbrake .........I've got one now.............I did'nt for years with drums lol.

I could do with new calipers really now as the left one catches, It only get driven about 15 to 20 times a year so things get sticking abit:blush:

Hope that clears things somewhat, but get in touch with Rob or Dunk at MZ

Andy
