The current Jimny has also been swimming with water over the lights for a prolonged period with no issues either.
With the snorkel fitted, Ive taken my jimny up to the middle of the mirrors.

Your extended diff breathers don't seem to be all that long. Would they not benefit from being longer or is there some sort of device in them that seals it when under water. Am thinking of the old snorkel you used to use when swimming that had a ping pong ball in the top.
