I got mine stuck in a puddle at Slindon, water was about 3/4 of the way up the wheels. Fortunately the door seals kept it out of the cabin and a nice man in a Discovery pulled me out.
It was a sobering lesson and I realise I should have checked how deep it was before trying.
I also realise that I absolutely need a diff locker and a winch.
Oh yeah, I'm also reminded of a bloke I used to work with, we called him Simple Simon. He was following a Land Rover home and came to a railway bridge that is in a bit of a hollow; when the drains block up there is about 12-15 inches of water there.
He watched the Landy drive through carefully and thought "well if he can, so can I" so off he went, in his Triumph Spitfire.
Ive taken a standard Jimny up to the bottom of the windscreen without a snorkel, and had no water ingress.
The current Jimny has also been swimming with water over the lights for a prolonged period with no issues either.
With the snorkel fitted, Ive taken my jimny up to the middle of the mirrors.

One thing I don't understand about Jimny's and deep water. OK you can put a snorkel on to get air into the engine. But noone has mentioned waterproofing the electrics. It is a petrol engine after all. Are they waterproofed from new.Mind you I have been using diesel cars for qiuet a few years now.Possibly all petrol engines are noe indifferent to water.

They are better than a lot of petrol cars because the high voltage electrics are under a cover on top of the engine. Whilst the cover is not waterproof (in fact it is open at the back) it does provide an element of protection that means the engine keeps turning in a lot of situations where other petrol engines will have stopped.

Cheers Martin.Would there be any advantage in sealing this box, or is it open at the back for a reason (cooling).
Your extended diff breathers don't seem to be all that long. Would they not benefit from being longer or is there some sort of device in them that seals it when under water. Am thinking of the old snorkel you used to use when swimming that had a ping pong ball in the top.
