My thinking is that you still get the 'look' at the rear of the vehicle, but do not add any stress on the front wheel bearings which may lead to wear & possible vibration.

How would the car handle this way, is it legal?

just rear wheel spacers?

I would atleast put some rims on, and a set of tyres.

And I don't think its legal.

Will look daft imho! Fine in terms of staggered rims on the right car but will look wrong on a jimny.
I would say the extra stress is negligible.

Black Jimny's don't get stuck!
