Hi all was created by Baggy
Hello
Have been lurking for a wee while.
Bought our first 99 jimny in about 2002 and had it for about 18 months before we chopped it in for a bigger family car.
Was looking for a winter run about to suppliment our other motors in November time and opted for another Jimny.
After a bit of searching picked up a red 2001 with 48K miles for £1700 nicker.
Wasn't in the best of nick tbh and we're the 9th owner but after a bit of TLC it's going like a good un.
Have put about 3K miles on it over the last three months and it has been fantastic in the snow we've had here. Have had to spend a couple of hundred pounds to get it up to scratch and is now spot on.
Jobs so far
Had to fix the drivers electric window (bit of spray lube stuff required on the runners).
Rear door central locking wasn't working because the rear door trim panel was binding on the lock pin (easy fix)
reconnect the rear brake light???? (again easy fix, i think it may have had a new rear door at some point but all looks straight enough underneath)
oil and filter change.
new back box and middle section for the exhaust.
Is in the shop at the moment getting kingpin bearings on one side for the MOT.
Jobs to do:
come the spring will wash down the underneath and give a good coating of waxoil (otherwise I don't think there'll be much left by next winter)
Need to investigate the front lamda sensor. Engine light came on when the garage fitted the two new exhaust sensors and the OBD is indicating front Lamda. Passed the emmissions and doesn't seem to be running too rich so not too worried but will have to have a look.
So, looking forward to future big Jimny chat.
Cheers

Hi, I'm quite new here too, bought mine about 6 weeks ago similar age and price, done nothing special (changed gearbox oil, sorted out the radio) too cold here.
where's the OBD socket, I've a code reader so my just have a look to see if anything's there.
cheers

(I think the message says something like)
To all, regards from distant Kamchatka (Kamchatka Of Russia)!
Practically I do not manage English, but I have a desire to enlarge my horizon and it shares by experience with you. It is necessary that I speak in Russian as I am proficient in that language.
By the way, the forums are a little similar! This is good! You are welcome as guests to our site.
