IIRC, the longer one's go on the O/S (Drivers Side) - which is where normally the most weight will be!

I'd say that Dirtydogz' right.
It doesn't make any sense to put longer springs on one side of the car and then shorter on the other.
What if your jimny almost always carries passengers then ?

It does make sense to put longer springs on one side and most spring manufacturers sell them as handed.
The reason for this is that the driver's side will always have weight in it and will sag more than the passenger's side resulting in a lean common on most 4x4's and the Jimny is one of the worst culprits - mine is terrible.
I shall be correcting mine at some point with spring spacers on the drivers side springs.
I have never had all my springs off the car at the same time to compare lengths so I do not know if the rears are shorter than the fronts. I suspect they are due to the weight of the engine in the front. Also my fronts are slightly heavier duty due to them being designed for a winch equipeed Jimny with the weight the bumper and winch add.
The only real way you'll know is by finding out where they are from and contacting the original seller and asking them.
If they are handed, they may be marked with a different coloured paint on each side, which may tell you also.
My car came fitted with the springs that are on it, so I've not had to go through this myself but have read about it many times over.

heres a pic of stardard jimny springs, long ones to the front. if you look closely
both front and rear drivers side are slightly longer and will be slightly stiffer. after market lift kits usually dont do this so you end up with sag on the drivers side. if this happens swap the springs side to side.

DutchJimny's TOPIC: Good value for money? Complete liftkit
on the D&G lift kit image - it says front HD coils are available for the ARB Bumper + winch - could that mean the longer coils - compensating for the extra front end weight ?

The springs in my photo are from jimnybits, and one of the front springs is 1"longer to allow for the jimny sag.
