To buy or not to buy! was created by Bigchridy
Hi all.

I'm in the market for a new winch bumper for the Jimny. As much as I would like one of them Xrox front bumpers that Monkey has just got, I dont think I could afford to ship it to the UK!

I am possibly going to go for the ORA winch bumper but before I commit I thought I would see what you guys thought?

Are they easy to fit? I understand that you have to weld some mounts onto the chassis and then the bumper bolts to these. Is this correct?

Is there anything else I need to cosider before I buy? Or would anyone recommend another type of bumper?

Hope you guys can help me decide!:)

I had a good drool over the ORA bumpers at TOR live, They are the best in my opinion. I may even grind off my homemade winch bumper off my chassis rails in place for one.

The Xrox bumper is certainly very nice but I don't think they, or the ARB type, are now legal on UK cars. The legislation changed a little while ago effectively outlawing 'bull bars' - or at least tubular or 'hard' ones. This is why you don't see them on newer cars. Plastic ones, like you see on Discoverys or RRs are ok as they are more friendly if you hit someone!
