I'm sure you seasoned Jimny owners will probably laugh at this simple newbie question, but here goes anyway. The manual says not to engage 4WD on tarmac as it causes the transmision to wind up. How much snow and slush do you need so that you can safely engage 4WD and leave it on at junctions etc? Should I manouvre in 2WD then engage 4WD when I straighten up??

I got a warning car with my jimny saying when engaging 4h do not go faster than 100kph and you must have your wheels straight, i have done the shift on the fly a few times with no issues, but i only do it going from to 2h to 4h, all other times you must stop to go from 4h to 4l, or 4L to 2h.
