Fitting a CB Radio.... was created by Pete E
Had a CB in my Trooper previously, and when I got the Jimny, I mounted it "temporarily" in the side pocket of the drivers door...Power was from the cig lighter, and the antenna was a mag mount on the roof put in place as needed. All in all a real "quality" job! :S

So after four years, I decided it was time to fit it properly..I've fabb'ed up a small bracket for the antenna which I intend fixing to the roof bars with a couple of black hose clamps..That took an hour or so of fiddling but turned out well.

Next, how to route the antenna cable into the cabin..After much thought, I decided to feed it down along site the existing radio co-ax, should be simple right?

Two bloody hours trying to fish the damn cable down the door pillar  I eventually got it down only to realise I'd not fed it through the rubber seal first, so had to pull it back up and do it again.

Wife turns up with a cup of tea and offers the helpful advise that I should have tied on a bit of string before pulling it back, and of course being 100% correct and the very obvious thing to do, it annoyed me even more that it never occured to me!

Ran the power cable to the battery with no drama, so tomorrow I just need a a fuse holder ect to finish off..

The comes the fun part of mounting the actual CB in the console..I've had the console off previosly, but can't for the life on me remember how, but I do remember it was a PIA!

I can see now why the original "temp" job lasted so long!
