Mentioned in a Post Before

A while back I linked a video showing an updated model of a Suzuki Carry alongside a quad. I mentioned that I wasn't sure if it would be a 4WD like some of the earlier models of Suzuki utility vehicles that made it to the Philippines. I was going to try and track one down to take a picture but mostly forgot about it. Recently I saw this post:



I'm not sure what market ares these went to. I'm sure there are quite a few in Southeast Asia.

Wasn't there a sub frame kit available for aftermarket conversions using a Jimny front axle?

I knew there were some conversions but didn't know whether or not there was a kit. Luckily Dave came to the rescue.

Although this is one of the older Suzukis (not a Carry), it's possible that it is actually a conversion. This model was available in both 2WD and 4WD. Although it is common to see them driving around here, there was only one time that I was able to get up close to one (and snoop). The entire drive train is lightweight and not really up to any heavy duty off-road use. They did have a 2-speed transfer but I think they were primarily used for agriculture and provincial tasks. This one looks a little more stout underneath than stock but is the same series. Not my picture so not really sure.
