It is true what they say, Guzzis are like heroin, I was wishing I'd kept the old one about a week after I sold it, managed to resist for about 3 years though...

I'm not a biker in any way but that is nice. Got something of the 50s to it!

I had a 750 Breva before, but I let it get salty wet once, and even though I washed it thoroughly as soon as I could, it just disintegrated into a ball of fur, so I tarted it up and got rid.
Part of the decision was it was a daily driver, and any spares or consumables have to be mail order as there isn't an agent for 40 miles. Now that I don't intend using it daily, and I won't go frantic if it is laid up for a month waiting for spares I traded the Harley in and got another.

Full of unnecessary electronics to go wrong, the centre stand is an expensive option, and there is no security whatsoever, but I still love it.

I had to get the special, as it has a rev counter.
In Italy, the typical rider is twenty something, with a match hanging out of the corner of their mouth and they can cope with a light coming on when the engine is about to explode, but I've spent years watching a rev counter, like the typical close to pension age UK rider.

A Honda 50 was state of the art, when I had my Cazenave moped, Andy. :laugh:

I progressed to a Tiger Cub. Also had a CZ 125 for six months, until I could get back on four wheels.

I had been out of work for six months, and got a job in Birmingham, about an eighteen mile journey. The CZ was the cheapest way for me to get transport. Never had a problem with it, in the short time that I rode it, but the kudos factor was zero. :lol:

OMG thats just superb!

Always fancied a Moto Guzzi but never did own one.

The heaviest and most gutsy machine I owned was a Kawasaki Z900 fully equipped with clip-ons, rearsets, 4 into one expansion pipes and a Rickman fairing.
It weighed a ton but went like snot off a stick - I regularly went down the Stourport/Kidderminster dual carriageway at well over 140 :ohmy: :blush: :whistle:

Nowt wrong with CZ! Yes they were the 1970s Skoda of the bike world I guess,
CZ used to do really quite well in on the motorcycle scrambling circuit as I recall. (At the time I was running a Bultaco Sherpa 250).
And I also remember being at Shelsley Walsh hillclimb watching Hannu Mikkola's attempt at the hill speed record in an Audi Quattro.
He didn't get it; and the record was held by a Skoda!

BTW the Moto Guzzi I lusted after was the Le Mans

I had a Bultaco Sherpa T250 too! Before that, a BSA Bantam 175 based trials bike, alternator was buggered so it ran off a 6V everready battery

Some of mine..... like you say.....bikes are addictive.....and the problem is you can never have enough???? My wife thinks you can have too many apparently.
