www.jimny.se

I have recently taken on www.jimny.se and its forum as the current owner has moved on from Jimny ownership. For a number of years this was one of the main International Jimny forums.

I am starting an upgrade and re-vitalising process for www.jimny.se , eventually elements will be combined with BigJimny to create a "MegaJimny" resource.

The first upgrade happened earlier today with an upgrade of the forum software to the latest version as the website had got a long way behind. Since I have upgraded the forum, no-one has logged on. This could be because of two things, either the upgrade failed or no-one is around.

If anyone has an EXISTING www.jimny.se forum account can I ask that you attempt a login and see if you can access the forum, thanks.

yes just logged in and it works havent been on there in ages!

Nope - Kunena is a proper board!

In fact I may migrate www.jimny.se to Kunena as it is less susceptible to Spam

(anyway I see your using Tapatalk!)

For me it says invalid username, even if I try a password recovery (same username).

I had an account but I've tried the usual combinations and it doesn't recognise me,it has been ages since s i looked in there though

thats because im on my phone.

kunena is a plugin for joomla, and wont operate without it. phpbb etc are stand alone proper forums.

things like the messaging system dont work on tapatalk using kunena as they dont intergrate too well.

anywho it aint my board so i'll shush :silly:

Thats the key for me, a single user login to both.

There is a user synchronisation plug-in between Joomla and phpBB but I found it to not work well.

I agree that the messaging in Kunena (i.e. none!) is poor, messaging is therefore by a separate plugin to Joomla, but the integration is getting tighter as new versions come out.

That is correct sir. Tried even combinations of uppercase/lowercase, no luck.

Don't want to kill the mood, but from my experience (managing quite a few forums for quite a few years) it would be much easier to set jimny.se in readonly mode, migrate what's worth migrating here and not bother further with integrating the two. 10% of the effort will bring 90% of the wanted results and the jimny.se forum is quite small anyway (10k posts, 1400 members).
