Locks and keys

After purchase, I discovered that the electronic (main) key operates the drivers door and starts the vehicle whilst the dead spare key operates the pax door whilst the tailgate only unlocks electronically. I need 1 key to operate all so contacted Suzuki who can replace the whole lot for me for a price equavalent to 30% of what I paid for the vehicle. Great option. 

Any suggestions as to how I can match the pax and rear door lock barrels to the drivers door barrel so that the main key will manually open all doors?

Your options are to go with Suzuki, who presumably, for that price, are including all necessary installation & re-programming of the immobilizer/ECU - OR - find a locksmith who can "re-pin" the existing lock cylinders to match the key that you have.

I use the term "re-pin" loosely - it's been a couple of decades since I took a lock apart, and back then they used pins of different lengths - the correct term might be "pin-tumbler' - but you'll need a locksmith who has the ability to disassemble the lock cylinders and rebuild them to accept the key that you have.

The third option would involve purchasing used lock cylinders (including the steering lock) from a scrapper and that takes you down the rabbit hole of re-programming the immobilizer/ECU to match the new keys, getting the keys & locks with the immobilizer & ECU as a matched set.

A fourth option might be to get the door locks from a scrapper and have two keys.

Fordem's last suggestion seems the best- get a set of locks from a scrapper, and get a plain flat metal key cut for them (no plastic top or chip).
Fit them to the doors and tailgate, then the fancy key operates the ignition, and the plain flat key opens all the doors. You end up with 2 keys on the ring, but it is obvious which is which.

If you want the electronic key to be able to do everything then I'd say suzuki is the easy way to go. If you can live with the remote locking being separate to the key that fits then there's another option.

As suggested, you can get the locks from a scrapper, theoretically with keys, but the chip in these will be wrong, and your engine won't start.

Timpsons will cut a key, and can copy the immobiliser chips, so you can probably get them to take the key from the donor locks, but the chip from the originals and viola, a key that works in the locks and starts the engine.

I think you might even be able to take the blade (the key bit) out of the donor vehicles key, and switch it for yours, giving you the replaced key, but the original electronics for remote locking and the immobiliser chip. 

For the record, modern car locks, jimny included, are known as wafer locks, and they have wafers that take the place of the pins in fordem's idea and stick out the top or bottom of the core if the key is wrong. It's possible to "repin" these, as long as you can source the correct wafers for your key.

Looking at the DIY option, with the cost of components and fitting (this is one job I dont believe I can do) and seeing the end result which is still 2 keys although only 1 lock set for the vehicle, I dont think it is worth it. I believe that if I do this I must do it properly and this means the Suzuki route. As this is low on my priority list these very informative answers have pushed it even lower...... vehicles needs new rear tyres and refurbishing of the alloy rims... rather spend my money on that first!
