Sell your bits!
NOTE: This is for members and their private sales/wants.
There are rules that suppliers have to follow (and many of you do follow the rules). However there have been a number of instances recently where "suppliers" have broken the rules.
Suppliers/Dealers or anyone selling with a commercial view in mind CANNOT post here unless responding to a specific request of a member in a "wanted" post.
Suppliers include people "breaking for spares" on a regular basis, when purchasing spares members should ask a supplier what they contribute to the running of the forum

Welcome to the forum. 2005 is a transition year, does your Jimny have a manual transfer box or dashboard push button 4x4 selection?

Norway 2005 Jimny M16A VVT, 235 BFG MT, 2" Trailmaster, ARB rear lck, 17%/87% high/low gears.
2005 to about 2009 has open bearings in the gearbox. 2010 or so to 2018 has bearings with green vinyl caps on the sides to keep the oil inside them. For some reason this is better. I changed my broken 2005 gearbox to a 2012 one and stuck a camera inside to confirm the bearings were capped.

Ok. This means you have one of those prone to failure. Most professional breakers know this and charge accordingly for second hand boxes that could be no better. Consequently prices are about the same as a rebuild. The advantage of a rebuild is that the kit includes the newer sealed version bearings and overcomes the primary failure mode.

It's either a rebuild or second hand, got my one 2016 from a suzuki breakers but as Lambert has mentioned there are expensive and might be worth changing the clutch while you have the box out

When I had the same issue on a 2009 gearbox I rebuilt it myself following the excellent Big Jimny Guide -
www.bigjimny.com/mediawiki/index.php/Gearbox_R72_rebuild
I bought a rebuild kit from ebay, and the only tool I had to buy was a new set of circlip pliers (don't need much of an excuse to buy new tools) and then I followed the steps. To be honest it was a doddle to rebuild. The clutch was and throw-out bearing was also done at the same time.
