New product under test
These fit onto the end of the rear shocks and (hopefully) fulfil two objectives:
1. They have offset holes so that the shock can be stepped backwards reducing the likelyhood of the spring and shock hitting each other, a classic problem with lifting springs and aftermarket shock absorbers.
2. They add in a second direction of rotation, hopefully stopping the shock from winding itself undone (drivers side) or winding itself tight (passenger side)
A third benefit is the artificial increase in shock absorber length by about 1 inch.
As stated these are going out on trial to see of they work, if they do then the final product will also be coated to protect against rust.
Can I take a quick straw poll on who would be interested in buying these if they went into full production?
On the subject of trials we have another product being prototyped. Does anyone have a standard Jimny (complete with standard plastic bumpers) who would be willing to pop over to Reading in Berkshire for the testing of a bolt on product. The only criteria being that you must off-road your Jimny in order to properly test for me.

Would be interested in trying (purchasing) if quality of weld holds up. My drivers side lower shock bush seems to chew up regularly and i only have mild 2inch lift.Wasn't a guy in Sweden using something similar with some success !!!!!!!

I'm very interested in this. I've been scratching my head for ages over something more substantial. My trucks standard if its any help i just wont be off road for a few weeks. Do you have any more details on them? i'd be after a pair for the front and can only fit one on the rear probably now i've fitted a towbar.

As for a recovery point, again, 10mm or thicker please ... def will have one or two .. depending on how they will be designed to fit to the Vehicle, and if they donot foul my current recovery / modifications

Regards the 'bolt-on' Recovery Points ... I'd be up for those too ... I foolishly bought some Swivel Eyes off eBay (url=http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200361376552&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:GB]Swivel-Eyes[/url] - and and when i came to fit them, turns out my ex-KAP Winch bumper is not thick or streong enough (doh!! )...

Thanks to Chris and his engineering contact and thanks to my tame tester, Maverick, the rear shock mounts have now gone into production. They will be produced in batches and I will advertise the first batch in the shop along with pictures of them in use once they arrive with me. And although I will not tell you the price yet as I have not sorted out postage weights etc I can assure you that I believe they are very competitively priced.
Further good news, I have a rear recovery bracket (prototype) in my hands. As I explained before I would really like to test them on a STANDARD Jimny and I would prefer it to come to Reading so I can see it fitted. Remember that I would then expect it to be USED so I am looking for someone who offroads their Jimny and has a reputation for needing recovery.
Also note that caveats apply - this is a prototype, it may not fit, it may not work, it may even be dangerous or damage your car and it is not painted/plated. Why am I not fitting it to my car - my car has roll cage mounts attached just where the recovery point would go.

Martin, not standard, but not that highly modified, if you want to put anything on Kerry's, she says she is happy to trial it.
We dont get stuck everywhere, but were increasingly finding new places and challenges to get stuck. When we do .... we usually get dragged out.
Spent 2 hours helping to dig / recover a well stuck shogun with the aide of 2 snatch blocks to get enough "Pull" on Friday Night.
