Years ago nobody would touch an engine with over 60,000 miles on it because it would be worn up. Nowadays small engines make twice the power of old and are capable of 3 times the mileage using half the fuel and you never have to do so much as take the rocker cover off. If it takes a fancy crank pulley to achieve this then I'm not complaining! I don't think the engineers are doing such a bad job.

i totally agree engines have come a long way forward in time with a lot less break downs its the success of progression if there is a weak link in the chain then its better dealt with and make the product better a better made pulley would help to move suzuki forward a bit more and add to its already good name

However..... the old pulley I removed doesn't look that bad, there's no clear sign of it splitting, the alternator, Ps pump and air-con pulleys are all turning free, as is the water pump. The numpty in the motor factors gave me the 2 wrong belts so I can't get the car running again until tomorrow evening after I get the correct belts. I'm really hoping that my belt squeal issues will be resolved.
