That's the best thing to do, the IAT is needed to calculate the fuelling.
Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

Would the air blast from forward movement not do that. I am wondering how the air is treated as it runs in that airbox under the wing..............warmed, coole or nothing?Mick C wrote:

Cone filters are more for sound than performance as they suffer from sucking hot air from the engine bay.
on my previous car which was a ibiza turbo it was recomended to smooth the inside of the air box, fit a performance filter (k and n or some such filter) and a larger cold air feed which ran the same route as the standard feed. This was the choice over a cone filter for performance gains,if you were interested in just more noise everyone said fit a cone filter.
I smoothed the box and fitted bigger feed etc and it was noticably quicker and looked no different than standard, nice n stealth
does fitting a "performance cone filter" count as an engine mod therfore being notifiable to the insurance folk?!
