Hi mate is the Pedal stiff when you press it down. Mine squeaks and it hard to push down I wasnt sure whether the cable was just stretched or not.

Mine has just started with exactly the same symptoms, watching this with interest. My pedal feels a tad stiffer than it used to, which i thought might be the clutch cable snagging internally somewhere.

get some one to push the peddle up and down while your underneath and spray wd40 in where the cable goes on the clutch release bearing my sj used to suffer from the bearing sticking on the shaft due to mud etc then start it up and just spray a bit in there while its spining just dont put fingers in while its running

Could be the clutch release bearing mate. Remove the slave cylinder rubber cove on the gearbox and squirt some WD40 on the clutch release bearing, be sure not to get any on the clutch itself though!, The squeak/ noise should disappear of significantly reduce thus confirming where the fault lies.
hope this helps
Steve.

jimnys have cable clutches not slave cylinders and you have just repeated nearly the same as what i put up before you and if it gets on the clutch it will burn off (dont people ever read all the post before replying and repeating things over and over again rant over have a nice day lol

God there are some funny people about. At least when I say something I can say it with a high level of accurace/authority being a Vehicle tech for over 15 years like. I dont play at it or I dont just guess, which the common wild guesses offten seems to be the case!
