• Modifying an engine to receive colder air in its air intake can lead to some improvement in engine's power.
  • Reason: colder air takes less volume of space for the same amount of air molecules than a hotter air.
    • This means that more cold air molecules can fit in engine cylinders than hot air molecules, thus creating a stronger air+fuel explosion in the engine.

• Beware that many cold air intake modifications are pure gimmicks as doing that modification properly is not always such a simple feat.
